Help bring Houston’s premier shop-local, give-back campaign to life while advancing the American Heart Association’s mission and the Go Red for Women movement. Volunteer Committee members play a key role in recruiting and engaging participating retailers and restaurants, promoting card sales, and supporting the planning and execution of the annual 10-day Shop With Heart Card event, taking place each spring. As ambassadors for the campaign, committee members help connect shoppers with businesses that give back while encouraging support for women’s cardiovascular health. Every $75 Shop With Heart Card purchased helps fund lifesaving research, education, advocacy, and community impact initiatives benefiting women and families throughout Greater Houston.

Thank you to the Houston Heart Guild

The Houston Heart Guild served as a volunteer-led organization serving the Houston community from 1983 to 2026. Throughout its 43-year history, the Guild played a vital and generous role in advancing the American Heart Association’s mission across the Greater Houston area. Rooted in a commitment to raising awareness about heart disease and stroke, Guild members devoted their time, talents, and resources to improving the health and well-being of our community, families, and loved ones.

For more than four decades, the Houston Heart Guild championed the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. Through year-round volunteer leadership, advocacy, and philanthropic support, Guild members helped establish and sustain some of Houston’s most impactful fundraising and community engagement initiatives. Their dedication strengthened the reach and success of signature events such as the Houston Heart Ball, Go Red for Women Luncheon, and the Shop With Heart Card, leaving a lasting legacy of support for cardiovascular health and stroke prevention within our community.

The American Heart Association is deeply grateful for the Houston Heart Guild’s unwavering dedication, leadership, and service. The Guild’s legacy will continue to inspire and support healthier lives for generations to come.
